Pickleball Competitions in Sweden – Complete Tournament Calendar

Are you looking for pickleball competitions in Sweden? At SwePickleBall, we compile the most complete Swedish tournament calendar possible, including both federation-sanctioned competitions and other pickleball tournaments, cups, league play, and events across the country.

Our ambition is for you to be able to use this page as your central starting point when searching for upcoming pickleball competitions in Sweden – regardless of whether the competition is organized within the Swedish Pickleball Federation's competition system or by a club, association, or other organizer.

The page is continuously updated as new competitions are published. Since dates, categories, and registration information can change, you should always check the official registration page for the competition before booking travel or accommodation.

Sweden's Complete Calendar for Pickleball Competitions

The Swedish Pickleball Federation has an official competition structure including SvPF Elite and SvPF Level. In addition to these, many other competitions are also organized in Sweden – for example, local cups, open tournaments, club events, clinics, and various forms of league play.

That's precisely why we are building this calendar to be broader than just the federation's sanctioned competitions.

Here you can find:

  • SvPF Elite
  • SvPF Level
  • Swedish Championships and other national championships
  • local and regional pickleball tournaments
  • open cups
  • league play and team competitions
  • clinics and tournament weekends
  • other organized pickleball events

Upcoming Pickleball Competitions

Here we continuously add competitions that are open for registration or have public information regarding dates and venues.

For each competition, we try to specify:

  • date
  • venue city
  • tournament name
  • competition category or level
  • singles, doubles, and mixed doubles
  • age categories
  • surface and ball when information is available
  • registration deadline
  • link to official registration

The specific list of competitions will be placed here and updated continuously.

SvPF Elite – Highest National Competition Level

SvPF Elite is the highest level in the Swedish Pickleball Federation's competition structure from the 2026/2027 season and replaces the previous designation SPT 400.

During a season, five SvPF Elite tournaments are planned in addition to the Swedish Championships. SvPF Level for other players will also be held in conjunction with the Elite events.

In SvPF Elite, there are categories for both 19+ and 50+ in:

  • men's singles
  • women's singles
  • men's doubles
  • women's doubles
  • mixed doubles

For 19+, the eight highest-ranked registered players or teams qualify for Elite, while the corresponding number for 50+ is six.

SvPF Level – Competition by Skill Level

SvPF Level is the broader part of the Swedish Pickleball Federation's competition system and replaces the former SPT 100.

Here, players are divided more based on skill level, and DUPR rating is used as a complementary tool for level classification where indicated.

The purpose is to create more balanced matches and give more players the opportunity to compete against opponents of approximately the same level.

Other Pickleball Competitions Outside the SvPF System

Not all interesting pickleball competitions in Sweden need to be part of SvPF Elite or SvPF Level.

Clubs and other organizers can, for example, arrange:

  • open tournaments
  • local club championships
  • social cups
  • DUPR-based competitions
  • age-divided tournaments
  • team play
  • clinics combined with competition

We therefore also try to find and publish these events when information is available.

This is an important part of why SwePickleBall's competition calendar is intended to be more comprehensive than a calendar that only shows federation-sanctioned competitions.

Swedish Pickleball League – SPL

The Swedish Pickleball League, SPL, is the Swedish Pickleball Federation's official league for team competitions.

The league is a different competition format from regular individual tournaments and allows club teams to compete against each other in organized league play.

Results and matches are handled via RAQT, and the setup may differ between divisions and geographical areas.

How to Register for a Pickleball Competition?

Many Swedish pickleball competitions use RAQT for registration, competition information, schedules, and results.

The process usually looks something like this:

  1. Create an account in the relevant competition system.
  2. Open the competition's registration page.
  3. Select the correct age category and game format.
  4. Register any doubles or mixed partner.
  5. Check the registration deadline.
  6. Read the competition's rules and practical information.

Registration is not complete until you have followed the organizer's instructions and any fees have been paid.

Which Competition Category Should I Choose?

Which category suits you depends on the competition. Some events use age, gender, and game format, while others also divide players by, for example, DUPR rating.

If you are unsure, you should check the competition's own category description before registering.

Playing at the right level usually leads to both more fun and more developmental matches.

Can Beginners Compete in Pickleball?

Yes. You don't have to be an elite player to participate in pickleball competitions.

There are competitions and categories that suit even players with limited competition experience. The most important thing is that you are comfortable with the basic rules, scoring, and how matches work.

If you haven't been playing for long, we recommend that you first review our beginner's guide.

Prepare for Your First Pickleball Competition

Your first competition doesn't have to be complicated. A few simple preparations will make the day much easier.

  • Read the competition information carefully.
  • Check start time and location.
  • Bring your paddle and extra balls if the organizer recommends it.
  • Have water and energy with you for a long competition day.
  • Check which ball and surface are used.
  • Arrive well in advance of your first match.
  • Make sure you know the scoring and serving order.

The most important thing the first time is to gain experience. The result comes second.

Ranking, Rating, and Competitive Play

When you start competing, you will quickly encounter concepts like ranking and rating.

They are used for different things:

  • SvPF Ranking reflects results and achievements within the Swedish ranking-based competition system.
  • DUPR attempts to estimate your current skill level based on recorded match results.

Find Other Players and Train for the Competition

The best way to prepare for competitive play is, of course, to play a lot.

Through a local pickleball club, you can find training partners, participate in organized play, and meet players with different playing styles.

Learn Rules and Technique Before Competing

The better you know the rules, the more you can focus on the game itself when the match begins.

Before your first competition, it's especially good to know the serving order, scoring, the kitchen rule, and the double bounce rule.
